WEBBED FUGUES
Webbed Fugues is a work set for 11 performers embedded in the role of dance in Afrofuturism. The work is inspired by Inspired by Dr. Nadine George-Graves text on the Anansi spider stories from West Africa where she writes:
Diasporic Spidering: The multidirectional process by which people of African descent define their lives. The lifelong ontological gathering of information by going out into the world and coming back to the self.
This work is ultimately about our power of connectivity through lineage, ancestry and innovation.
Choreography/Projection Designs: André M. Zachery
Music: Jeremy Toussaint-Baptiste and Flying Lotus (featuring Kendrick Lamar)
Lighting: J. Russell Sandifer
